According to researchers, if you can engage in a creative activity (on any scale or spectrum) for just 45 minutes, you can significantly lessen the amount of stress in your body!!
Granted... it may be slightly uncomfortable to begin with if you don't feel like art is your forté, but not to worry, feedback from the participants reflected that after a while they were able to get lost in the flow of creating... and as a result they felt really relaxed!
How accurate is this research?
Well... the research was carried out at a craft party with 39 healthy adults (ages varied) who provided saliva samples for the testing of cortisol levels before and after creating... approx. 75% of the adults were in a much better space, with lower cortisol levels after their art session.
